For the first time ever, The Velvet Set (Australia’s most dynamic Swing Band) will take to the stage in 19-piece Big Band mode for what promises to be one of the best swing dancing nights of the year!

For nearly 4 years The Velvet Set has wowed audiences across the country with their unique blend of classic and neo-swing and not to be out done, will perform a brand new selection of show-stopping tunes for this special ‘one-off’ show.

The repertoire includes legendary Dance Hall and Big Band standards by Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Gene Krupa, Count Basie & Duke Ellington, crooner classics from Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Nina Simone, Anita O’Day, Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin & Nat King Cole and of course the best neo-swing by Royal Crown Review, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and the Brian Sezter Orchestra.

As always The Velvet Set will be joined by Sydney’s leading Swing & Rockabilly DJ’s – Limpin’ Jimmy and the Swingin’ Kitten to ensure the dance floor is Jumpin’ and Jivin’ all night long. There’ll also be troupe performances by some of the Countries leading swing dancers so dust of your Zoot suits, pleated skirts, pill box hats, feathers, furs and fedoras and grab a partner for the biggest and best night of Big Band Swing Sydney will experience in a long, long time…
